There is a multitude of thread sealing and thread locking applications throughout the oil and gas industry, and conventional methods just aren’t holding up.
Air compressors develop high pressures and temperatures during operation, and when coupled with vibration, air leaks and threads loosening can occur anywhere throughout the system. Used commonly in the past as a thread sealant, Teflon taped threaded pipe fittings on oil and gas transmission valves that required adjustments during assembly would leak during post assembly pressure tests. As a result, the valve would need to be pulled from the line, reworked and then retested; slowing production output.
An undeniable need for a product that could easily and reliably seal the threads on fittings of gas transmission valves to eliminate leaks was unearthed.
