Striking miners consider pay proposal

Protesting miners at the Collinsville coal mine are considering new pay and work conditions.

Protesting miners at the Collinsville coal mine are considering new pay and work conditions.
The protesters have been on strike since earlier this month over negotiated pay and work agreements with mining contractor Thiess.
More than 200 miners had picketed the Queensland open cut coal mine, blocking trains from entering or leaving the site, but stood down on Friday after agreeing to meet with Thiess.
The Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU), which has been representing the workers, stated that it expects its members will come to decision regarding Thiess’ offer by the end of the week.
