Saracen Mineral Holdings has awarded SRG Global a drill and blast contract worth $70 million at the Thunderbox and Carosue Dam gold operations in Western Australia.

Under the contract, SRG Global will complete production and grade control drilling, and supply and manage explosives at the Goldfields sites.

SRG Global managing director David Macgeorge said the company was excited to team up with one of Australia’s major gold producers.

“We are extremely pleased to have secured this new, five-year term contract with Saracen, who are a major player in the gold sector,” Macgeorge said.

“We are excited to partner with Saracen to deliver innovative solutions to drive both safety and operational performance.

“This contract further diversifies SRC Global’s customer base and adds significantly to our long-term work in hand.”

Saracen has become one of Australia’s leading gold miners, having recently completed the acquisition of 50 per cent of the Super Pit in Kalgoorlie.

SRG Global is no stranger to the Super Pit site, having provided specialist Geotech services at the Kalgoorlie site for more than 20 years.

The company also has major contracts with Alcoa of Australia, which contracted it for multi-disciplinary asset services for $90 million during January and long-term work GFG Liberty OneSteel at Whyalla, South Australia.
