South West emergency skills challenge

The 2008 South West Emergency Response Skills Challenge will be held on 18 and 19 October at Australind Senior High School.

The 2008 South West Emergency Response Skills Challenge will be held on 18 and 19 October at Australind Senior High School.

The focus of the event is learning and as such the event is a challenge rather than a competition.

Nominations are invited from emergency response teams from the resources industry in the South West, Peel, Kwinana and other regions to test their skills and training in real-life simulated emergency scenarios in fire fighting, first aid and patient extrication, rope rescue, confined space, hazchem/breathing apparatus, team skills and theory.

A maximum of 10 teams will participate.

To ascertain interest in the Challenge, team nominations are now being accepted.
