Site Group signs mining equipment training agreement

Site Group International has signed a training agreement with Monark Group which will see it expand heavy diesel training in the Philippines.

According to Site, the agreement will see Monark supplying Caterpillar diagnostic equipment and heavy machinery for use by Site in its training programs.

In return Site will renovate several of Monark’s buildings, including an undercover workshop and a 100 000 square metre area for training, live diagnostic testing and operator training; train personnel, and build trainee accommodation.

The two will work together to jointly commission a pilot marketing program to test market demand for the new heavy diesel skills training facilities.

Commenting on the agreement, Site chairman Vernon Wills stated that "this contract enhances our capability to deliver offshore training.

"Our objective is to ensure industries in Australia and Asia have the capacity to train sufficient numbers of trade specialists, required for a growing number of resources projects, where necessary skilled labour is desperately needed."

Training will begin at the end of February, with plans for the facility to be fully operation by June.

Monark is the official supplier of Caterpillar equipment in the Philippines.
