SGS to open new minerals testing facility in Kalgoorlie

SGS has announced it will open a new minerals and construction materials testing facility in Kalgoorlie later this year.

According to the company "the facility has been strategically relocated to offer testing services in significantly upgraded facilities".

The 1630 square meter lab is designed to incorporate SGS's new sample processing protocol for preparation and fire assay.

It stated that it will also have inspection and verification services and "full sample preparation services for soil,rocks, and drillcores; fire assay with final measurement by flame atomic absorption spectrometry and/or microwave plasma atomic emission spectrometry; accelerated cyanide leach analyses with flame atomic absorption; and construction materials testing as well.

The facility is designed to support exploration companies in the Eastern Goldfields region.
