Sedgman wins Middlemount CHPP contract

Sedgman has been awarded the $22.5 million contract for the Middlemount mine’s coal handling preparation plant improvements.

The contractor originally designed and built in the plant in 2007, and has operated it since.

Sedgman managing director Nick Jukes said “the plant modifications include sizing infrastructure to allow improvement to the coking product produced, as well as an improvement to the stockpiling capacity of the operation”.

The work precedes commissioning of rail loadout facilities in November, and will be completed by mid next year.
