CAPS Australia Pty Ltd has announced its support of the 5th Annual Australian Mining Prospect Awards as sponsor of the Community Partnership of the Year category.
This category, introduced last year, recognises mine operators which have implemented a unique or innovative program that has positively influenced people in host communities.
An Oxiana initiative won the Award in 2007. The company partnered with the Bungala Aboriginal Corporation, Northern Regional Development Board, Federal Department of Workplace Relations, and TAFE South Australia to launch a program that helps local people get jobs at its Prominent Hill mine.
CAPS Australia managing director Raymond Han said CAPS was delighted to continue its support of the Prospect Awards.
“We are pleased to see the Prospect Awards recognising the importance of engaging the community in which mines operate in and around, as well as the community within the mining fraternity,” Raymond told Australian Mining.
