The search has continued for a man missing in the Pilbara for 24 hours.
A man working on a drilling exploration team five kilometres south of the turn off for the Hammersly Gorge in Western Australia disappeared after leaving the worksite at 8 AM yesterday morning.
His colleagues reported him missing after he failed to return, with aerial searches beginning this morning.
Pilbara District Police Office acting superintendent Peter Morrisey told ABC’s Morning Program that chances of finding the man are high.
Due to the high levels of rain the region has recently experienced, Morrisey said “we’re hopeful that perhaps he’s done what most people should do and he’s taken some shelter and find a nice, cool place and wait for the people that are searching for him to come and get him.”
