SBS will show a new documentary – Power Surge – which looks at the global race to find energy solutions and reduce carbon levels.
It comes as Australia announces its carbon tax scheme and United States invests tens of billions of dollars into clean energy projects.
The program questions whether the globe is on the brink of a green-energy ‘power surge’; or if the green movement is too little, too late.
Power Surge travels the world to look at a number of technologies – from solar panel factories in China to a carbon capture and storage facility in the Sahara desert, through to wind and solar installations in the US.
It also looks at the latest innovations in the renewable and green energy field, from artificial trees through to green reboots of more familiar technologies such as coal and nuclear energy.
The documentary will show on SBS on Tuesday, 16 August at 8:30pm.
