Sandvik CFO resigns

Sandvik CFO and vice president, Mats Backman, has announced he is leaving the company.

Backman, who has been with the company since 2007, is vacating the position to assume the role of CFO for automotive safety supplier Autoliv.

The company is now on the hunt for a new CFO.

“I’m grateful for Mats Backman’s contributions and the role that he has played as a key member in the Group Executive Management. At the same time I’m pleased that Mats will ensure a successful transition to his successor. I wish Mats all the best in his new position,” newly installed Sandvik president Björn Rosengren, said.

Backan’s exit comes only a few months after former CEO Olof Faxander stepped down from the company.
