Copper-gold producer Sandfire Resources has released its latest quarterly result, showing strong results across the board.
Overall mine production for the quarter topped out at 407,151 tonnes (t) with a copper grade of 4.3 per cent. 436,516t of ore with a copper grade of 4.1 per cent was milled during the quarter, with an average recovery of 91.7 per cent copper.
Copper production for the quarter saw an increase of just over 1000t compared to the previous quarter’s results at 16,263t compared with 15,258t. Combined, Sandfire’s current half-year result stands at 31,521t, placing the company on target for its full-year guidance of 63,000–66,000t.
In addition, Sandfire’s in-development Monty mine is also reported to be on schedule, with first delivery expected by the second quarter of the 2019 financial year.
An environmental impact statement of the company’s 78 per cent-owned Black Butte project in Montana, United States, was started and completed during the quarter (from September to November), with a final scoping report published in December last year. A decision is expected be released before the end of 2018.
