Safety award for WA contractor

Mining contractor Underground Services has been awarded WorkSafe WA's highest honour after racking up 963 days without a lost time injury.

Underground Services executive general manager Tim Abrahams accepted the WorkSafe Platinum Certificate of Achievement yesterday, with the company praised for its commitment to safety.

“We believe every accident is avoidable. We also believe that every individual working for us needs to take ownership of and accountability for their job safety,” Abrahams said in a statement.

“Our business currently boasts 963 days without a lost time injury, which is a significant achievement.”

“We have also seen a marked reduction in our restricted work and first aid injuries.”

Underground Services, part of the CFC Group, specialises in installing power, communication, and pipeline infrastructure, and has worked on a number of mining projects in the Pilbara.
