Rocky alive with QREX

Today is the last day to attend the 2009 Queensland Resources Expo (QREX) trade exhibition.

The 2009 Queensland Resources Expo (QREX) has put a spotlight on innovation and technology in the State’s critical mining and energy sector, and one day remains for mining professionals to visit the QREX Trade Exhibition.

QREX foundation sponsor and Queensland Caterpillar dealer Hastings Deering is displaying one of the largest stands at the QREX Trade Exhibition, showcasing several new models in Cat’s Compact Construction Equipment (CCE) range of equipment.

Hastings Deering is also displaying the Caterpillar 12M Motor Grader, with advanced joystick controls.

Visitors to the event can experience the 12M first-hand, with a live training simulator on hand for operators.

Two electro-hydraulic joysticks are said to reduce hand and wrist movement as much as 78% compared to conventional lever controls for greatly enhanced operator efficiency.

Hydco International is also using QREX to launch the new the Hydco 1200H multi-purpose exploration drill rig.

The rig is hard to miss, as one of the show’s largest outdoor exhibits, featuring a 12 m mast when fully extended.

Hytorc Queensland, is also demonstrating the world’s first hydraulic torque and tension wrench without a reaction arm.

Amare Safety, which is demonstrating a new emergency first aid washing solution for treating chemical splashes to skin and eyes, and hearing protection for high noise environments.

QREX is currently being held at Rockhampton Showgrounds, Rockhampton.
