Rio Tinto has awarded an IT contract to Perth-based tech consultancy Diversus.
The contract provides Diversus the opportunity to bid for general consultancy, application services and business intelligence and analytics against other pre-qualified providers.
This runs for a duration of three years, with the option for a further two-year extension.
Diversus director Dien Tang said the privately-owned company was privileged to be part of Rio Tinto’s Asia Pacific West IT vendor ecosphere consultancy panel to provide technology and IT services.
“Diversus has a strong commitment to supporting local businesses and community initiatives and it’s great to see global leaders like Rio Tinto acknowledge and support local Western Australian businesses and talent,” Tang said.
“It’s an exciting time for Rio Tinto and we’re proud to be partnering with them on this journey.”
The news was preceded by Rio Tinto extending its contract with Sodexo for a further two years.
Under the $15 million contract renewal, Sodexo will continue to provide village services at Rio Tinto’s Argyle diamond mine in Western Australia before the mine heads to a close at the end of the year.
