Rio completes talc divestment

Rio Tinto has finally completed the divestment of its talc arm to Imerys.

It sold the business for US$340 million, after receiving the initial offer in February this year.

The talc business has about 1,000 employees at 20 locations in Europe, North America, Australia and Asia.

Its talc operations in Australia are the Three Springs talc project, in Western Australia.
