RCR win Newcrest contract

RCR Tomlinson has won a contract for a new materials handling facility at Newcrest’s Cadia Valley Operations.

The contract, valued at $25 million, will see RCR design, construct, test, and commission the materials handling facility and other associated mine infrastructure works at the site.

Preliminary work is already underway, with the project slated for completion in the third quarter of the year.

The win comes as the contractor announces its intention to exit coal services, cutting 300 jobs and close 14 facilities in Australia.
