RCR Tomlinson has secured a more than $80 million contract with Edify Energy and Wirsol Energy for both engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and operation and maintenance (O&M) services for stage one of the Gannawarra Solar Farm in Victoria.
The first stage of the solar farm, located west of the rural Victorian town of Kerang, will be for 60MWp DC of capacity.
RCR will conduct EPC and commissioning for the solar farm including associated substations and grid connection works.
Construction on the solar farm is set to begin in the second quarter of 2017 and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2018.
Once commissioned RCR will conduct O&M services at the farm for two years with an option of a three-year extension.
RCR managing director and CEO, Dr Paul Dalgleish, welcomed the new contract and said it adds to the company’s growing list of renewable energy projects under construction.
It comes after RCR received exclusive rights to provide EPC services at the Darling Downs solar farm.
Earlier this year RCR received an EPC contract for the Pilgangoora lithium project in Western Australia. The company will conduct services at Pilgangoora’s two million tonnes per annum lithium-tantalum processing plant, which is set to being production in the first quarter of 2018.
