QR National confirms job cuts

QR National will be cutting more than 700 jobs by the end of the year.

A QRN spokesperson told Australian Mining that "QR National expects to accept approximately 750 voluntary redundancy applications from across the country in coming weeks.

They went on to state that "all employees granted a voluntary redundancy will leave QR National by December 2012."

It comes as the company posts a 22% profit increase, which saw revenues rise to $440.9 million.

The company stated that it is part of a staff restructure that will cut the positions for a one-off cost of $75 million.
