Prospect awards contract for lithium project

Prospect Resources has appointed JR Goddard (JRG) as the earthmoving contractor for the Arcadia lithium project in Zimbabwe.

JRG, a specialist in large-scale earthworks, civil construction and infrastructure, is expected to mobilise plant and equipment immediately and break ground in the coming weeks.

The contractor owns and operates 120 major items of earth moving equipment and boasts a transport fleet of more than 100 vehicles and ancillary equipment.

“Since an updated offtake agreement was announced last month, Prospect is now in complete control of the design, build, commissioning and financing of the mine and concentrate plant,” Prospect stated in an ASX announcement.

Prospect has made significant progress in several areas, including: building out the company’s team at all levels as demonstrated by the hiring of Sam Hosack; appointment of DRA to provide engineering services and design of the Arcadia project; appointment of JRG as the earthmoving contractor; and the imminent ground-breaking ceremony.

The company expects to secure more than $US55 million in funding for the first phase of its Arcadia lithium project, which will see it produce lithium concentrates for export by June 30 2019.
