Topcon Positioning Group has released its latest survey tablet the FC-6000, which is now available from Position Partners.

Evolved from previous popular model, the FC-5000, the Topcon FC-6000 powers Topcon global navigation satellite systems (GNSS), optical instruments and MAGNET software.

Position Partners geospatial business manager Cameron Waters said the FC-5000 model was the first tablet to truly blend the power of a desktop computer with a field-hardy design that “doesn’t miss a beat in bright sunlight, rain or dusty, windy weather.”

The company adapted the latest Intel Quad-Core Pentium processor and front and rear cameras for the FC-6000 model.

It also presents a large seven-inch display screen and the highest environmental rating available on the market.

“This latest model brings even greater processing power and functionality, offering surveyors and other geospatial professionals unrivalled performance for all field applications,” Waters said.

The FC-6000 model features a standard 4G SIM, internal GPS and an optional external keyboard for operators who prefer this to a touch screen.

“If you’re relying on a tablet for most of your working day, it’s important that it performs well and feels good,” Waters said.

“This new Topcon field controller does exactly that, our customers have raved about the 5000 model and this one trumps it.

“Couple (the FC-6000) with MAGNET Field, Office and Enterprise software and I believe we have the most compelling workflow solution on the market.”
