Police fear for missing WA prospector

A prospector has gone missing in the WA Goldfields and emergency services have been searching for the 46-year-old man since Tuesday.

Prospector Michael Keith Graham was last seen 10pm Sunday while camping with friend Peter Holloway 70km north-east of the Goldfields town Menzies.

According to The West Australian when Holloway awoke on Monday Graham had disappeared, and it is believed he wandered away from camp during the night.

Perth Now reports Leonora police and 22 State Emergency Services volunteers searched by land and air near the Lake Ballard region yesterday.

A team of six mounted police will also join the search team today from Menzies.

Police said there were concerns for Graham's safety because most of his supplies were found with his vehicle.

Earlier this week a prospector in Ballarat uncovered a 5.5kg gold nugget estimated to be worth up to $300,000.
