Phoenix Contact delivers better safety cover with five-year warranty

Customers of electronic solutions company Phoenix Contact can now extend its standard warranty of power supplies products to five years when installed with a surge protection device from the Phoenix Contact range.

The warranty applies to the Quint, TRIO and UNO power supplies range, all optimally adapted to meet the requirements of different industries, such as machine building and systems manufacturing, building automation, or process engineering.

Peter Hudson, Phoenix Contact Trabtech product manager, said, “As a manufacturer of surge protection and electrical components, we see product damage from transients and surges prevalent in industry regularly, and recommend surge protective devices (SPD) installation wherever possible at each electrical board.

“This will provide increased protection and life by reducing the peak voltage generated by switching devices.”

By installing the upstream Plugtrab SPD, the power supply is protected. And, if or when the Plugtrab fails, one can simply replace the pluggable module.

This will ensure no downtime for the power supply, and peace of mind for users.

Hudson said, “Power supplies are the life blood of automation. Phoenix Contact power supplies are robust and have integrated surge protection, but once they fail due to large invisible transients, they cannot be replaced.”

When combined in an intelligent way, Phoenix Contact products can also become systems for efficient and high-performing functions such as control, remote monitoring or measured value acquisition.

Founded more than 90 years ago in Germany, Phoenix’s diverse product range includes components and system solutions for industrial and device connection, automation, electronic interface, and surge protection.
