OZ Minerals has appointed Andrew Cole as its new CEO.
The miner first announced the search for a new head earlier this year.
Cole is scheduled to being at Oz in early December, relocating from Canada where he worked with Rio Tinto.
He was most recently the global miner's COO for its iron and titanium business.
Prior to this Cole was the general manager for Rio Tinto's Australian coal operations, and an executive in its diamonds division.
OZ Minerals chair Neil Hamilton welcomed the appointment, stating "we are delighted that Andrew is joining OZ Minerals and bringing the requisite skills and background to lead Oz Minerals through its next phase".
Hamilton went on to express his appreciation to former CEO Terry Burgess for his leadership of the company over the last five year.
Despite the fixed date of 3 December for Cole's appointment, OZ is yet to confirm a date for Burgess' departure.
