Mining activities have resumed at WPG Resources’ Tarcoola gold mine in South Australia, after it was temporarily suspended due to heavy rainfall.
Public roads leading to the mine have reopened and scheduled deliveries of potable water, diesel and camp supplies have also recommenced.
Drilling and mining activities have restarted in the pit, however the company said the main focus area is the rail access corridor road, with clearing and grading to continue over the next few days.
Two road trains are set to haul material to the Challenger processing plant today and the company added that it expects the road to be fully operational for heavy vehicle access between Tarcoola and Challenger later in the week.
Milling operations have also continued, with enough ROM stockpiled at Challenger.
