NRW win Rio Tinto iron contract

NRW have won a construction contract with Rio Tinto at its Cape Lambert iron ore port.

According to NRW, the contract will see it construct the CLB353 stockyard, conveyor link earthworks, and relocate existing water pipelines and rail formation earthworks.

"This will involve common excavation, rock excavation, crushing and screening to produce approximately one million tonnes of pavement materials, and the construction of approximately five kilometres of sealed roads," NRW says.

The contract will run for around 48 weeks and employ a workforce of about 270 people.

It will be undertaken in a joint venture with the Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi Foundation.
