North Queensland Bulk Ports says it has no plans to stockpile coal at Louisa Point and will instead focus on infrastructure at Dudgeon point.
CEO Brad Fish said that although the plans could change, at this point Louisa Creek is off the radar for coal development, according to The Daily Mercury.
“At this point in time… our current plans aren’t to build infrastructure at Louisa Creek,” he said.
“Our focus is on building infrastructure at Dudgeon Point.”
It comes after local residents raised concerns over NQBP’s plans for the region
Fish added that the company will also attempt to limit its environmental impacts from the Dudgeon Point coal port development.
