Newcrest de-lists from Toronto Stock Exchange

Newcrest has announced it will de-list from the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX).

It has today received confirmation from the TSX that its shares will be de-listed from the close of business on September 4.

However it will remain listed on the ASX and the Port Moresby Stock Exchange, trading under the symbol NCM.

Newcrest stated that it made the decision on the bases that the benefits of listing on the TSX have to date not been realised, and "Newcrest's expectation that maintaining the TSX listing will not deliver significant future value for the company".

The miner has been hit particularly hard by the shifting gold market, and seen a drop in its share prices globally.
