Eriez will supply Newcrest Mining’s Cadia Valley gold operations in New South Wales with proprietary separation equipment to enhance the site’s minerals processing activities.
The Australian miner will use the equipment to recover gold and copper from a concentrator tailings stream.
Newcrest’s order, from the Eriez Flotation Division (EFD), includes two HydroFloat Separators and four CrossFlow Classifiers.
Eriez Australia managing director Jaisen Kohmuench commented: “With strength and expertise in process engineering, equipment design and fabrication, EFD has assumed a leadership role in meeting increasing global demands for minerals flotation systems—especially for coarse particle recovery.
“Our team has successfully led projects, operations and businesses related to mineral processing across the globe.
“This gives us the perspective and depth of experience to be a trusted equipment vendor and partner to operations, engineers and mining companies throughout the world.”
HydroFloat Separators for coarse particle mineral concentration deliver the capacity of a density separator, while maintaining the selectivity of a flotation device, according to Eriez.
The CrossFlow Separator is described as an efficient hydraulic classifier for the separation of material based on particle size, shape and/or density.
