New power station deal for Anglo’s Grosvenor mine

Energy Developments has entered into a new gas supply agreement with Anglo American’s Grosvenor mine.

The deal could see the potential future development of a 21MW waste coal mine gas power station on the site.

Energy Development would operate the power station until 2038, subject to board agreements from Anglo, and securing necessary permits and approvals.

A new power station at Grosvenor would be the third time Energy Development has built and operated such a structure on an Anglo site, with one at Grasstree mine and two at Moranbah mine.

Managing director of Energy Development, Greg Pritchard, said the new agreement is testament to the important strategic relationship which EDL has developed over its three years with Anglo.
