Resource Industry Network (RIN) and Austmine have entered an agreement advance each organisation’s support of the mining equipment, technology and services (METS) sector in the Mackay region.
RIN advocates for the region’s mining supply chain businesses, highlighting the abilities they have to service the resources industries through networking and relationship building initiatives.
Austmine promotes the advancement of Australian technology, innovation, and collaboration in mining and resources, aiming to position Australia as a global METS innovation hub.
RIN chair Tony Caruso said the agreement was designed to strengthen cooperation between the two organisations to develop the state’s METS sector.
“This agreement is focused on delivering new networking opportunities, speaking engagements, member updates, and shared events, such as trade missions,” he said.
Austmine CEO Christine Gibbs Stewart said it also strategically aligns both of their organisations.
“In 2013, RIN was instrumental in assisting us with our major national METS survey which demonstrated that importance of METS not only to the Mackay region, but reinforced the strong expertise and experience in regional hubs,” she said.
“Since that time, we have been seeking to better link our metropolitan and national activities to the regions as we believe there is significant advantage to be gained.”
