New online exploration reporting system launched

A new online system for the submission of mineral exploration reports has been launched in Western Australia.
Officially unveiled at the Geological Survey of Western Australia Open Day, the web portal allows companies and individuals to compile mineral exploration reports in a single location online.
The reports can be compiled and saved over a number of sessions before eventually being submitted to the WA Department of Mines and Petroleum.
While it will initially be a voluntary system, the WA DMP stated that after mid-next year its use will become mandatory as part of the Department's move to complete electronic submission of documents.
"It has a number of advantages including its ability to guide the user through mandatory reporting requirements, automatically acknowledge receipt of the report, provide a copy in PDF format to the company, and store the report in the GSWA Western Australian Mineral Exploration Index (WAMIX) database," the DMP said.
Guidelines for exploration on mining tenements have also been updated for the new reporting systems.
