ATMOS Australia has announced a new dust management system that can issue warnings days in advance for dust emissions from mine sites.
The company said its DustAlert+ system was self-adapting and allowed miners to anticipate dust impacts before they happened.
DustAlert+ is a support system developed over five years to support the ATMOS-5D early warning system.
ATMOS said it had been jointly nominated with a mining project as a finalist in the WA Department of Mines and Petroleum Gecko Awards for Environmental Excellence for ATMOS-5D, which it claims as a world first.
In a statement ATMOS Global CEO Dr Orestis Valianatos said DustAlert+ used artificial intelligence to control dust emissions and lower environmental impacts and the cost of production.
