MTG to exhibit bucket protection solutions at MINExpo

MTG will present their latest integrated solutions for wear-parts for comprehensive bucket protection in a range of applications at this year’s MINExpo.

The company will exhibit their first Cast Lip for hydraulic excavators over 350 tonnes. The 169” six-position lip is designed for weight reduction, with different sections optimised to ensure high penetration.

The system also incorporates the MTG Systems TwinMet and Promet T protection systems.

TwinMet is a hammerless tooth-adapter locking system made up of three components: tooth, intermediate adapter, nose welded or fused to the lip. The reinforced nose provides additional robustness and greater resistance in maximum tension areas. In addition, the locking system used in the different parts provides users with a fast, safe, and efficient system for replacing parts.

The lip and wing shrouds use the ProMet T locking system, that stands out for its innovative locking system that self-tightens bucket shrouds, reducing the wear on both parts. Thus, the risk of plastic deformation of the shroud is also reduced. Its hammerless locking system provides safety and reliability in assembly and disassembly operations.

The company will also show their range of StarMet Rope Shovel products, a full GET solution for electric rope shovels, available in different configurations. This system will be displayed using a life-size display with the new hammerless locking system, as well as a wider range of available teeth: models RSS and RSXX. These two new designs are suitable for hard and extremely abrasive applications, and are available to retrofit the main models of rope shovels on the market.

Underground mining will also have a dedicated space within the MTG stand at MinExpo, where they will present their system of shrouds welded to loader lips for underground mine LHDs (Underground Mining Load-Haul-Dump Loaders), which enhance the penetration of the buckets and the productivity of the machine.

MINExpo is held every four years and kicks off in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 26-28.
