Monadelphous Group has reported a serious incident involving one employee at its workshop services facility in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.

Emergency services attended the site, but the employee has since passed away.

Monadelphous managing director Rob Velletri said the company was deeply saddened by the loss of its colleague in the close-knit community of Kalgoorlie.

“We extend our sincere condolences to our employee’s family, friends and colleagues during this very difficult time,” he said.

“The wellbeing of our people is our primary focus, and support is being provided to our employee’s family, as well as to our team in the Goldfields.”

Monadelphous will be working with the relevant authorities to conduct an investigation into the accident.

The Perth-headquartered company provides construction, maintenance and industrial services to the resources, energy and infrastructure industries Australia-wide.

It also specialises in planning, managing and executing mechanical and electrical maintenance services, shutdowns, fixed plant maintenance and capital works.
