Monadelphous has won new construction and maintenance contracts in Western Australia and Queensland worth $220 million, bringing its total work won this year to $1.8 billion.

The new contracts include construction of an iron ore car dumper at Rio Tinto’s Cape Lambert Port expansion in WA and construction work at the Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal in Gladstone.

The maintenance contracts will cover WA work on Woodside’s Pluto LNG project at Karratha and Chevron’s LNG projects at Barrow Island and Thevenard Island.

Earlier this year Monadelphous won other construction contracts on Rio Tinto’s iron ore projects in the Pilbara.

It also scored work for Rio to construct and install a potable water supply system in the Pilbara.
