Engineering services contractor Monadelphous has secured a new contract for services to the Karratha Gas Plant Life Extension program.
The MGJV 70:30 joint venture between Monadelphous and Giovenco Industries will provide a range of services to the Karratha gas Plant including planning and execution of mechanical, electrical, access, fire protection, blasting and painting, cladding and insulation services.
The contract will commence in early 2016 for two years.
Monadelphous MD Rob Villetri said the new contract was another major milestone for the company’s oil and gas services division.
“[This] demonstrates our reputation as a partner of choice in the provision of LNG services,” he said.
“Monadelphous has a long-term commitment to the Karratha region and we are particularly pleased to be selected together with our joint venture partner Giovenco as a services provider for this important program of works.
“We look forward to successfully delivering outstanding services to Woodside.”
The North West Shelf Project’s Karratha Gas Plant includes five LNG processing trains, two domestic gas trains, six condensate stabilisation units, three LPG fractionation units and storage and loading facilities for LNG, LPG and condensate, with capacity to produce 12,000 tonnes of domestic gas per day.
Monadelphous has made a concerted effort recently to increase its presence in the oil and LNG industry in Australia, having secured maintenance service for the Shell Prelude FLNG processing platform.
