Mining on show at Rockhampton Expo

CQ Transport, Trades and Mining Expo gets underway in Rockhampton today with  over 400 companies promoting their businesses and products.

The two day event at Rockhampton Showgrounds will have everything on display from mining equipment, scaffolding systems, hand tools and employment services, The Bulletin reported.

Event organiser Bob Carroll said the event would attract delegates from both around the state and country-wide.

"Rocky is easy to get to, with short flights from Brisbane and it's not far to drive from Mackay," he said.

Carroll said the expo had a lot to offer.

"The projects that we are aware of have a 20 to 30 years lifespan and these are products and services that these projects will need," he said.

Maxilift sales manager Stuart Eccles is a first-timer at the expo.

"We're trying to crack into the mining market," he said.

He said the expo was good exposure.

The expo starts today at 9am and runs until 4pm tomorrow.
