Mining contractor killed in car crash

A 32 year old coal mine contract was killed in Queensland yesterday morning when his car collided with a cattle truck.

The man, who was a passenger in a four wheel drive, died at the scene after the crash on the Dysart-Middlemount Road, according to The Morning Bulletin.

A spokesperson from RACQ-CQ Rescue said the driver had been airlifted form the scene, and had suffered chest and abdominal injuries, and a fractured pelvis.

The driver of the truck was unhurt.

Fog and low visibility are believed to have contributed to the accident.

It is believed that the 32 year was from New South Wales, and was working as a contractor at a nearby coal mine.
