Mining companies from all over the world attended the GKZ International Conference at the Expocentre in Moscow earlier this week.
Sponsored by Micromine Russia, the topic of this year’s conference was The issues of expert evaluation of mineral reserves in the light of co-operation with international classifications and coincided with the 90th anniversary of GKZ, Russia’s State Commission for Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves.
The Commission was established in 1927 in order to bring uniformity and credibility to Russia’s mineral resource industry.
Micromine has had a long standing relationship with the Russian State Commission for Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves.
“We were proud to sponsor this year’s event as it provides a great platform for companies to gain more insight into Russia’s mineral classification and resource sector,” said Boris Kurtsev, Micromine Russia’s regional manager.
Product specialists from Micromine Russia also presented a mining project in virtual reality using Microsoft’s HoloLens technology.
“This technology could have many practical applications in the mining industry and we’re interested to see how Micromine can be used in collaboration with it” Kurtsev added.
