Mining and Engineering NSW has kicked off its first day.
The event, which has been held in Newcastle for the first time after its move from Muswellbrook, has attracted a steady flow of people.
With around 200 exhibitors covering the gamut from underground heavy coal mining machinery through to miners' health insurance, the show has drawn a wide range of exhibitors.
While it is smaller than last month's Queensland Mining and Engineering Exhibition, historically the event has not been as large.
Despite its smaller size the event still has large machines on site, with huge industrial blower for mining, and a Cat wheel loader the main attractions.
Speaking to one trade attendee, William Kraan from Sandvik, he told Australian Mining he thought the event was interesting so far.
However a number of exhibitors stated that today has been slower than expected, but anticipate Wednesday to be a much busier day.
