Lucapa Diamond has unearthed a 104 carat diamond at the Lulo Diamond project in Angola.
The D-colour, Type IIa diamond was among the latest in the range of ‘Specials’ – diamonds weighing more than 10.8 carats – they have discovered at the site.
It is the fourth diamond they have uncovered of more than 100 carats this year, and the fifth in total.
Earlier this month, the company discovered a 38.6 carat pink diamond at the site, the largest coloured gem they have unearthed to date.
Their 404 carat diamond, retrieved in February, was the largest single stone found by an Australian company, and the 27th largest single diamond ever.
