
A Singleton man was killed yesterday while working on a mining truck at a factory in Muswellbrook.
The 42 year old man was repairing a mine dump truck body when he was crushed by a falling piece of equipment, the Newcastle Herald reports.
According to fellow workers at ResCo Engineering, the man was crushed however police reports state that equipment fell on to the worker.
The ABC reported that the man was standing in front of a forklift when a metal hopper fell and crushed him.
A ResCo official told the Herald that no comment would be made as the incident was now under ‘legal privilege’.
"Any comment will be made by special counsel," the spokesperson said.
According to the company it specialises in the maintenance of trucks, four wheel drives, plant and equipment for the mining industry.
