Man injured after alumina train incident

A 62 year old man has been injured after his vehicle was hit by an alumina train in Western Australia.

The incident, which occured earlier today, happened on the line between Pinjarra and Bunbury, approximately 110 kilometres south of Perth.

It is understood the man's car was parked across the tracks when the incident occured.

Emergency response units were quickly onsite, where the man was cut free from his vehicle and then airlifrted by RAC Rescue Helicopter to the Royal Perth Hospital.

The train driver has been treated for shock.
