MACKAY’S mining services sector received a $118,000 boost from the Queensland Government which has launched the Mining Services and Technologies Industry Action Plan.
The Government launched the industry action plan to boost competitiveness in the local industry.
According to the Government, the action plan will work with industry and stakeholders to establish the Mackay region as a global centre for mining services and technologies and the funding would help companies work together to win big contracts.
The Mackay Whitsunday region is home to over 120 mining services companies and has an annual turnover of $1.5 billion, accounting for about 27% of all industry output in the region.
