MACA wins Brazilian mining contract

MACA has been awarded a Letter of Intent for work atAvanco Resources’ Antas North copper mine.

Valued at around $120 million, over five years, the contract will see MACA provide open pit mining services, including drilling and blasting, and loading and hauling.

The project, located in the northern Brazil, is the second award of work in the country for MACA, with the contractor planning to use it as a springboard for further work in the nation.

“Just as the opportunity to tender the Antas North project was based in existing relationships, MACA will now leverage off existing infrastructure and relationships developed since we commenced operations in Brazil with Beadell Resources,” MACA operations director Geoff Baker said.

This award also diversifies MACA into copper.
