MACA collects Western Australian contracts

MACA has picked up a trio of contracts or extensions at Western Australian mining projects.

The Perth-based mining services company has received a $12 million variation to a bulk earthworks contract with the Gruyere gold joint venture between Gold Fields and Gold Road Resources.

MACA’s contract at the Eastern Goldfields project has been extended to October this year with the variation.

The company was originally named as the contractor for the bulk earthworks package in April 2017.

MACA has won a civil earthworks contract constructing evaporating ponds for Western Areas at the Cosmos nickel project near Leinster. It expects this contract to be worth up to $6 million.

The company, through subsidiary MACA Interquip, has also been awarded a $6 million structural, mechanical and piping contract by AngloGold Ashanti at the Tropicana gold operation in the Eastern Goldfields.

“The works relate to a secondary mill upgrade at the plant and will employ 25 employees at peak manning,” MACA reported via the ASX.

The Tropicana works are expected to be completed in the second half of 2018.
