Lucapa Diamond Company has now sold close to $20 million worth of diamonds from the Lulo mine in Angola in 2017.

The Perth-based company, with partners Empresa Nacional de Diamantes and Rosas and Petalas, recently completed its fourth sale of alluvial diamonds from the Lulo operation.

Lucapa sold 1878 carats for proceeds of $US1.3 million ($1.8 million) at an average price per carat of $US695.

The latest sale brought Lucapa’s gross proceeds in 2017 to $US14.5 million ($19.1 million) at $US1747 per carat.

“With the Angolan wet season now over, Lucapa and its partners expected to resume alluvial mining operations at the high-value mining blocks later this month,” the company said in an ASX announcement.
