A prospector who was reported missing on Sunday afternoon has been found in a mine shaft.
The 63-year-old and his son had been prospecting about 20km west of the Thunderbox gold mine in Leonora, which was mothballed by Russia's Norilsk Nickel in 2007.
The man endured a night in remote bushland in Western Australia by sheltering in an abandoned mine shaft, ninemsn.com.au reported.
He was reported missing to police after he failed to return from a walk.
Wearing just shorts and a t-shirt, he did not have any food or water.
He was found safe and healthy on Monday morning.
