Local residents have voiced their anger at Orica over its handling of the chromium six leaks at a recent public forum.
The attendees stated that they are looking for the company to prevent similar incidents in the future, according to The Herald.
Every disaster plan failed us and now you’re sitting up there pretending you are here in our best interests,’’ a resident fumed.
Hunter New England Health director David Durrheim reassured residents that the leak did not pose a health risk.
The acute health risks are negligible,’’ he stated.
Neither Orica representatives nor environment minister Robyn Parker attended the forum.
